Minister Kent announces funding for clean-up of the Great Lakes
MP for Burlington Mike Wallace, the Honourable Peter Kent, Minister of the Environment, Tÿs Theysmeyer, Head of Natural Lands with the Royal Botanical Gardens, and Mark Runciman, CEO of the Royal Botanical Gardens, at an announcement in Burlington, Ontario, on March 7, 2011, for funding for the clean-up of the Great Lakes.
Environment Minister Peter Kent spoke about the Government of Canada's efforts to help clean-up the Great Lakes as part of Canada's Great Lakes Action Plan.
Minister Kent announced that the Government of Canada is contributing $2,899,500 from its Great Lakes Sustainability Fund to support 43 projects to advance remediation and clean-up of Canadian Great Lakes Areas of Concern.
